The wall's fall led to the collapse of Communist power, German reunification and the Cold War's end.
Communist East Germany erected the 155-km (96-mile) concrete wall in 1961 to encircle West Berlin and prevent citizens from fleeing into the capitalist enclave.
'Struggle against oppression'
At least 136 people are thought to have been killed at the wall while trying to escape.

Toyota withdraws from Formula 1
Toyota has confirmed that it is pulling out of Formula 1 racing after posting its worst ever financial loss.
"Toyota signed a new Concorde Agreement in the summer committing them to F1 until 2012 and so it could be possible for the team to continue in another form if the rest of the grid allow it."
Trulli is tipped to join Lotus while Glock is expected to move to Renault later this week but Kobayashi's future is less clear. - bbc.co.uk

BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica came second ahead of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton while six drivers retired in Sao Paulo.
